The cat has a thing for cables

Yesterday she bit of my headset – completely off. The cute one is a wild one indeed. I guess we have to hide or lubricate the wires with lemon or something. Any tips?

Cat pants.

  1. Love that last photo on the sofa :) our Burmese kittens were cable chewers when we first got them, I didn’t find a cure, just tried to keep them away from them to begin with! Now they have progressed to paper/card/plastic. So they have ruined a few precious pictures, I am constantly learning to place stuff out of reach!

Hej E – congrats on the new addition to your family! :)
I’ve heard that “bitter apple spray” might work?

Sweetness!! For cables, I just had to continue to buy new ones as all electronics in my house slowly died and became fire hazards. After about a year or so, she stopped… oh, the kitten phase! Also, be careful if you enjoy breathing while you sleep. Does Rut attack your stomach as it rises and lowers? Enjoy! (and I enjoy reading your blog – found it while reading through Sharilyn’s of Lovelydesign). xo

Hi Susanna, yes it might be a kitten phase. I have a vague memory that Hiro, our Devon Rex did the same as a kitten. Cross my fingers..

Your cat is so cute! And a wild one indeed! My cat doesn’t bite the cables luckily, but instead she bites my feet when they aren’t properly under the blanket when sleeping. :)

Covering cables with aluminium foil helps too!

fyspray finns det nåt som heter hos kattaffären, fast det luktar inget vidare…

One of my “big kittens” still does it and unfortunately there’s no letting up. I’ve learned to solder, it’s not as hard as you’d think. Not quite a preventative measure, but it’s something.

Oh she looks funny, how she’s holding on to the couch!!! Not sure about the wire problem though :-/

Ah yes, the kitten stage. This is what I usually recommend- buy kittens in pairs (or get them when they are older) because they are satan in fur. That way they can go demonic on each
other and leave you alone, and hopefully the cords alone.

Although, I’ve heard bitter apple spray works well. We get it from the pet store or vet here in the US,.

    Good luck!
