Dear readers a lovely giveaway coming up from sponsor LilahVintage. Please leave a comment in this post to enter the giveaway. Good luck to you all. A winner will be chosen at random Monday, September 3.
“I grew up in California getting to pursue my first love working on feature films. I have been fortunate to work all over the world on such movies as “Speedracer,” “Contraband,” and “Troy.
The second love came out of sad circumstances. My grandmother passed away leaving me her collection of jewelry. She was a spit fire and lived a long fantastic life where you dressed up to get on an airplane. Much of the jewelry was broken so I took classes on jewelry making and chain work learning how to take apart the old and make it modern. Ever since I have been making elegant everyday jewelry using a combination of vintage and new – I love it. I use quality materials of 22k mid century beads with 14k gold or sterling silver chains and findings to make sure your jewelry lasts.
I still work on movies (I, Alex Cross comes out later this year and Thunderstruck in 2013) and make jewelry between projects or on location. Occasionally the two meld – on films I work closely with the costume designer and it’s a treat when they pick a piece to be worn by an actor.
The vintage beads and gems are cultivated from years of working with designers, estate sales and world traveling to find gorgeous quality pieces.
Lilah is my adorable border collie rescue – she travels with my husband and I wherever we go.
❤ 20% of proceeds from LilahVintage is donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society dedicated in fighting blood cancers. ❤
The item I will be giving away is a pair of yellow triangle earrings. A pair of 22k mid century yellow triangles on gold filled ear wires. Delicate simplicity.”

Lymphoma came to visit my friend’s life, an artist in Los Angeles, after she took on a mural project in the Ukraine one year after Chernobyl occurred. When she returned to the US and developed non-Hodgkins lymphoma, it was directly traced to Chernobyl. My grandmother, mother, and father died from cancer, my 44 year old niece was just diagnosed with breast cancer, and the victims of Fukushima will begin to be tallied. We can’t go through life without having cancer’s hand reach out and touch us directly or indirectly. Thank you for your work.
Yeay! Thank you! xo
A Grandma born in the days of dressing up. Ah, these are the anchors of life. Hold her tight. Like the candy corn earrings you made to tuck tight in one’s ear lobes. Yvonne :-)
