Steffie Brocoli is a talented illustrator from France. In the post above you can see the world map Steffie has done for Fine Little Day. When I first saw Steffie‘s pictures I immediately fell in love with her sense of drawing, her charming imagination and that hand drawn, painterly look in her illustrations. When it was time for printing the map (a couple of days ago) Steffie actually sent me the original of the map – the whole map painted in one piece. It was lovely!
Please say hello to Steffie:
“My name is Steffie, I’m 22 years old, and I live in Paris since 4 years ago to study graphic design and engraving in Paris. I live in a 3 rooms flat with my cat, my boyfriend, and a stuffed groundhog which is currently sleeping in the closet. One of the things I prefer is flea markets on sunny sunday morning but I also like Matisse very much, vintage cups, teapots, children books and old fabrics.
When Elisabeth asked me to make a map, first, I did’nt believe it. It was the first time someone asked me to do this kind of work. I was reading her blog since years, but I did’nt think to be quite good for making something with her one day. She told me to do what I wanted, and to have fun doing it. I must say I was very scared to do something that she does not like. The hardest thing to do was to know what I wanted to put on the map because there are too many cool things to draw in the world. Painting all these things was awesome, and I must admit I was a little sad when it was over. This map was a kind of challenge for me. Elisabeth trusted me, I would never thank her enough for that.”
