And on top of above scenery, a new issue of Kinfolk Magazine. The appealing Kinfolk spirit “simple ways to spend time together” seems more relevant than ever. At least if you listen to trend oracles like Li Edelkoort (does anyone?). ” Trend Union’s new season for summer 2015 is called GATHERING“. Trendy or not that’s how we want to do it, spend time together.

Old, worn, discolored textiles gets new life as colorful texile cakes.

We were out in the woods the other day, Klara and I. Shooting a textile tipi, our new rug and some cones. You who follow at Instagram might have notice that we brought some of these amazing floor mats out there as well.

Earlier this year me and my family visited Sri Lanka (such a nice country!), and I fell in love with  these floor mats, mainly made by women at home by old textiles. Strips of fabrics are sewed on a piece of thicker textile. A great way to get a good use of old, worn and even discolored textiles.

I couldn’t resist in bringing a bunch of them home. I have more than I need though so some of these treasures will be avalible in the shop, in set of 4. The profits for them will go to a lovely coconuts salesman, Mr Subasiri with wife and four children.

The summer fleas are opening. You see them all over on the country side – the flea store signs “Loppis”. Every year there are more of them. In old barns, gymnastics halls, private basements, garages.. People want to get rid of things. And then there are people who just can’t get enough. Hoarders.  Gosh I’m not one of them, am I? Don’t act compulsive anyway. At least I don’t think so.

Moving it around. The textile that I bought from a friend recently. Been on the wish list for years, Josef Frank’s Bows. Other color combinations here and here. As a bag here. Very “kulturtant” as you say in Swedish.

Rut is all over. And together.

It was light as in an afternoon though, even the sun was shining. The Rhubarb has grown, the grass too. And the forest is as fresh as more out south.

The cats are to fast to capture together.

The Swedish wallpaper company Sandberg released their latest collection “Götheborg” yesterday. The vernissage was held at a da Matteo here in town. Ten wallpaper designs with the common thread ocean and travel. My favorite pattern (above) is called Eden, design Sissa Sundling. Love the folk art feeling.

The collection will be launched in August 2013.

The mini gathering we had today me and Klara. Shooting for the shop. Cold coffee, a few mosquitos and fresh spurce buds. Gosh they taste good, a little bit like sorrel.

Klara brought a bag with cones, I brought a dotty swimsuit, for Klara. I rarely swim in cold Swedish lakes. The tipi was actually nice to sit in.

The rug is called Commedia dell’Arte.

Yesterday she bit of my headset – completely off. The cute one is a wild one indeed. I guess we have to hide or lubricate the wires with lemon or something. Any tips?
