WOODEN WHALE, BLACK/WHITE

This wooden whale in two pieces is a fun element in the shelf. Johan “Jönne” Malmström from Pajala in north Sweden has been doing crafts all his life. Previously in all kinds of materials; wood, metal, leather and ceramics. But in the past fifteen years, the focus has been mainly wood carving. He carves his characters from memory, as he sees them, not after a reality-adapted picture. It gives them an artistic charm that is hard to resist.
