UDON LINEN PLACE MAT, BLUE
A place mat works for everyday use and even for more formal settings. When in combination with a tablecloth it also works as a stain cover. Much easier to wash the place mats than the tablecloth every time a little accident happens. They can also be used as bread cloths. With thick brushstrokes and bright colors the pattern Udon comes to live. Using a Japanese calligraphy technique called Syodou or Syuuji, Masayoshi Oya has painted strokes like the thick noodle called Udon. For Fine Little Day the Udon pattern has come to live on woven linen in a collection consisting of kitchen linen, a cushion cover and fabric by the meter. The textile is jacquard woven and inverts the color so each side looks different.
