DYEFORINDIGO MUSLIN CLOTH
Muslin cloth dip dyed in indigo by artist/artisan Johan Åberg / Dyeforindigo. Limited edition of 30.
The Dyeforindigo collection by Johan Åberg includes a kimono and a cushion cover made of leftover linen textiles from an earlier production, indigo-colored muslin blankets and mobiles made of wooden sticks Johan picked in Gothenburg’s harbor, a linen wall hanging and two posters. It’s a collection that celebrates passionate craftsmanship, sustainability and the color blue! All in a limited edition.
This piece is hand dyed with indigo colouring, making each cloth unique in its appearance. The process of dyeing with indigo requires washing the fabric as an after-treatment in order to get rid of residue colouring. This may lead to the cloth having some pilling of fibres. If the muslin has some pilling on the surface of the cloth it can easily be removed with a lint brush or a lint removal machine. The lint occurs due to the nature of the muslin material.
