2010/12/28 Darkness in the land of the snow

Usually it’s not this part (the south) of Sweden who looks like this, at this time of the year. So much snow. But as long as the roads are passable we are satisfied. We like snow. And, when the darkness falls the snow lights up for us a bit. A consolation when the length of the darkness is about 20 hours per day and night.

Short about polar nights in Scandinavia. In pictures.

I am planning a trip to Sweden next year. What time of year is your favourite? I am from Australia and the climate is very different. :>

Oh yes it’s very beautiful. In younger days I would get a bit depressed when it was weather like this. It’s in another light today. And of course it helps to have a warm place and loving people to return to, just as you say Kyile, essential. Guess we have to get use to strange weather, seems to be never ending these days.

Jennifer, that is a very nice comment, thank you :)

Alana, even though I like winter, autumn and spring – the summer is my favorite season. I recon Swedish summers are quite different from your warm season. This is what “Go Scandinavia” writes:
