Did a job with a good friend of mine this weekend. She, like me works as a prop designer. I’ll tell you, me and her together at a fleas regulary is not a good idea. We’ll would have to move to a mansion before.
And just like me, my friend has a cat. Her cat’s name is Smirre. It’s a “normal” cat. He’s a chubby, cute and hairy one. Our cat the other hand (who kind of stirred up a little debate this weekend at Apartment Therapy, ha ha) has less hair. I love all kind of cats but the weird thing when you have a Devon Rex and meet other more fury cats, the reaction when I pat them is often – oh I got a hand full of hair suddenly. Like a shock really that it can be so much fur on one cat. The fur on a Devon Rex (if they have any) is short, curly and soft as the feathers of a chicken. It’s a cool an intelligent breed. Some times described as a cross between cat, dog and a monkey. Or, as “a monkey in a cat suit”. That’s a good description, I like that.

Haha, a monkey in a cat suit! That is so true. I’ve “babysitted” a devon rex a few times and it’s such an intelligent and lively breed. I’ve always had “normal” cats growing up, so it was kind of a shock to touch its little skinny body at first. But when I’ve had the cat for a week I find myself thinking how big and furry and weird looking the normal cats are. :)
he he! I think my cat fits that description too ‘a monkey in a cat suit’ though he’s not a Devon Rex, just a regular furry chap.
The Devon Rex are a really special ones that’s for sure! I had one and I was many time confronted with question ” is he eating something ?” , ” where are his hair ” ? etc. I was always making jokes that he is a alien from other planet ;-)
I would like to take both Hiro and that pitcher home. Both beautiful and unusual.
